Portuguese national coach Fernando Santos has selected his squad for the upcoming matches during the international break when Portugal face Poland and Scotland on the 11th and 14th of October, respectively.

Missing from the list is Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo who has stated that he wants to focus on the Bianconeri for the remainder of 2018.

Also missing from the list is Inter midfielder Joao Mario – a player yet to feature for a single minute of the 2018/19 season. The former Sporting Lisbon man, who many expected to depart Italy during the summer transfer window, appeared in all of Portugal’s matches at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but has failed to make the national squad since.

The player refused a number of moves during the last window, but his repeated absence from the national team may convince him to move on in January.

Serie A is still represented, however, by former Inter and current Juventus full back Joao Cancelo.
