Former Inter boss Marco Tardelli believes Inter now have the squad depth to rotate their team but does not think they can challenge Juventus for the Scudetto.

Inter will look to extend their winning streak in all competitions to six when they take on SPAL in Serie A this evening, but Luciano Spalletti’s men would still be eight points behind the Bianconeri with a win in Ferrara.

“Juventus’s rivals have to hope that Cristiano Ronaldo and co. get distracted at some point by their ‘obsession’ of winning the Champions League,” Tardelli told Gazzetta dello Sport on Sunday.

“Despite losing Napoli played a great match against them last weekend and will know how to respond to their setback, but they don’t have the same quality in their squad.

“Inter on the other hand have provided Spalletti with a talented squad that enables him to rotate his team, but it won’t be easy for them to recover after their poor start.

“The only way to finish ahead of Juventus this season will be to beat them in the head-to-head matches.”
