Inter manager Luciano Spalletti spoke with Radio Rai following Inter’s 2-1 win over SPAL at the Stadio Paolo Mazza.
“They held up to the last without giving up. It was good of us to be able to recover and do so with conviction. The team won the game with character. They believed in themselves and were duly rewarded. We started really well and played high up and suffocated SPAL.
Spalletti then spoke on Inter captain Mauro Icardi who scored each of Inter’s two goals and Borja Valero
“Mauro Icardi is a strong player and the penalty box is his home. In those situations he is very strong, he is perfect. Borja Valero is also strong. He is an exceptional guy and I must allow him to play more often from the start but I have many other players too. The fact he can make a difference when he comes on as a substitute makes a big difference. He understands every situation on the pitch.”
