Mauro Icardi and Gonzalo Higuain will not only lock horns in the Milan derby in 11 days time but also while away together with the Argentine national team according to a report from Corriere della Sera.

Argentina are looking to go in a new direction following a disappointing World Cup and that is why Icardi is currently ahead of his Milan counterpart in the eyes of manager Lionel Scaloni in view of the two matches with Iraq and Brazil over the international break.

Higuain is one of Argentina’s side of recent years that promised so much but never managed to deliver either the World Cup or the Copa America. A seasoned international with 75 caps to his name, Higuain has scored 31 goals while representing his nation.

In this aspect, he massively trumps Icardi who is a rookie in comparison. Icardi has just five national team caps to his name and has yet to open his goal scoring account for La Seleccion.
