There are a number of Injury problems for Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini heading into the international break. Atalanta’s defender Andrea Masiello was taken off injured after 22 minutes of the match against Sampdoria due to a muscular problem and according to the tests he has undergone today, he is reported to have an injury to the rectus femoris in the right thigh.

Masiello is expected to be out injured for about a month and it is likely he will make his return for the home match at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri against Inter on the 11th November. Other tests will be carried out in the next few days, in order to better establish the extent of the injury and his expected recovery times.

The 32 year-old defender has made 127 appearances for Atalanta since 2011 but is perhaps most well known for his involvement in match-fixing during his time at Bari.
