In an exclusive interview with Inter TV, Andrea Ranocchia revealed which former player who he wanted to be most like and saw as a role model.

The former Genoa and Sampdoria defender stated that “As inspiration I always looked to Alessandro Nesta, my idol, even though he was on the other side of Milano, he is one of the players who made history in Italian football, I have had many insults for saying this over the years, but I cannot help it, role models go beyond the color of your shirt.”

Andrea Ranocchia is yet to make an appearance this season for Inter and since signing for Inter in 2010 Ranocchia has gone on to make 145 appearances and has scored nine goals in the process as well as loan spells at Genoa, Sampdoria and most recently at Hull City in the Premier League. Ranocchia enjoyed a brief spell as captain of Inter before being replaced by Mauro Icardi.
