Inter’s Champions League group stage opponents Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that defender Jan Vertonghen will be out of action at least until December.

“Jan Vertonghen sustained a hamstring injury against Hudderfield Town on 29 September, which has been monitored closely over the past 12 days.

“Further investigation has shown a good initial response to rehabilitation.

“The Belgium international defender will now continue his recovery with a view to returning to full training by December,” a statement posted on their official club website read in relation to the Belgian.

Vertonghen’s absence will come as good news to Inter who take on Spurs at Wembley on November 28th in the penultimate match day of the group stages.
