Former Inter owner and president Massimo Moratti was at the Festival of Sport in Trento, an event focused upon Inter’s Triplete success.

While on the stage alongside several Nerazzurri heroes of years gone by, the Italian, who owned the club for just shy of 20 years, explained the swap deal that involved Zlatan Ibrahimovic Samuel Eto’o with Spanish giants Barcelona, a deal that played a huge part in Inter going on to complete the feat.

“I met with the president of Barcelona for lunch the month before it happened. He asked me about Ibra and I sure talked about him saying that he was a great striker, we had won four Scudetto’s but we for certain sums would never sell him to you. But when he arrived in Milano he told me that the initial offer had been multiplied by three. Then of course Eto’o was involved in that deal too.”
