With a permanent transfer seemingly not an option in the January transfer window, Torino will instead request Antonio Candreva on a loan basis according to a report from Tuttosport.

Toro would be able to give Candreva an almost guaranteed starting berth each week but negotiations will not be easy at all due to the 31-year-old’s high salary. The Italian international – who knocked back a move to Monaco in the summer in favour of staying in Milan – currently earns €2.2 million per season and still has two years to run on his current deal at San Siro.

A solution could come in the shape of Inter acquiring some Granata players as part of a deal. While Toro president Urbano Cairo ultimately does not want to give up his stars, knowing it would make a deal for Candreva easier could perhaps sway him. Inter are especially keen on Daniele Baselli and Nicolas N’Kolou as per the report from the Turin based newspaper.
