Speaking to the official website of the Argentinian FA, Mauro Icardi expressed his thoughts on the upcoming game against Brazil that will see him as the main striker on the pitch.
Icardi was asked about his physical status replying that: “I am feeling very well. This time I arrived in excellent shape. I can complete the full training sessions with the group, which is something that I missed during the last call up to the national team. We are trying to follow a new project, we also have many new players who are wearing the Argentina shirt for the first time. We are trying to create something for the future, we are building a foundation.”
The match between Argentina and Brazil will be played on the 16th of October at the King Abdullah Sports City stadium in Saudi Arabia. Argentina are going into this game coming from a 4-0 victory against Iraq where Inter’s Lautaro Martinez was one of the goalscorers for Argentina.
