Former Inter midfielder and Milan manager Sinisa Mihajlovic has looked ahead to next weekend’s Milan derby in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

“It is always a special game and usually the favourite going in tends to lose the match but this time they are both more or less on the same level.

“I hope to see an entertaining game with a packed stadium. It is less fiery in Milan than the derby in Rome, so I am cheering on both teams, as I was happy when I was at both. Maybe I will hope for a draw.”

The Serbian spent the final two years of his playing career with the Nerazzurri between 2004 and 2006 and became a fan favourite for his thunderous free-kicks. Upon his retirement from playing, he became then Inter manager Roberto Mancini’s assistant until 2008. Afterwards he managed a handful of teams before landing on the Milan bench where he spent just shy of a full season in charge.
