Ahead of Sunday’s Milan derby, Gazzetta dello Sport have detailed five things that Inter must do to ensure they find success and keep their winning run going.

The first thing Inter manager Luciano Spalletti must do is recover Ivan Perisic and make him ‘Ivan the terrible,” once again. The Croatian has been inconsistent this season and a shadow of the player he was last season where alongside Mauro Icardi he contributed to half of Inter’s total goals. Perhaps it is a question of fitness due to the World Cup and from tomorrow he will be back at Appiano Genile.

Secondly, Inter must get Sime Vrsaljko, Danilo D’Ambrosio and Marcelo Brozovic fit in time. The trio have been dealing with injuries and all skipped their commitments with their respective national teams and their conditions will all be monitored.

Thirdly, Inter must be aware of the conditions of some of the players who have been away on international duty and will be on long haul flights back to Milan. All players, such as Icardi and Keita Balde will be evaluated and rotation could be seen to the team especially with Inter having to play Barcelona in the Champions League a few days after the derby.

Next, Inter must nullify Milan striker Gonzalo Higuain. Milan Skriniar and Stefan de Vrij will be tasked with handling him and ensuring he doesn’t hurt Inter on Sunday.

Finally, Inter must take full advantage of having Radja Nainggolan. He could unleash himself on Sunday, connect with Icardi and bring the required quality to succeed in a derby environment.
