Fabio Capello was highly complimenatry of Inter transfer target Nicolo Barella as he reviewed Italy’s performance in the 2-1 win over Poland.

“Barella is the player who can change the tempo in midfield. He gives something more in terms of quality and quantity, which we lacked before. He reminds me a bit of Marco Tardelli on a dynamic level,” the former Milan manager said to Radio Anch’io Sport.

“Italian football is now about possession. It is now in everyone’s DNA. Technically this team are very good, but let us not forget that Poland seemed a bit resigned.

“The midfield is the team’s engine. It is important to be able to get the ball near the opposition’s box, and this is the job that Roberto Mancini has to do.”

The 21-year-old as aforementioned has drawn links to Inter among other many high profile teams and is valued very highly by his current club Cagliari who are reportedly wanting upwards of €50 million for him.
