Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis has confirmed talks have taken place with Genoa president Enrico Preziosi over in-form striker Krzysztof Piątek.

“I have talked to Preziosi and his agent. We still need to meet but I will leave our Coach Carlo Ancelotti to be calm, I do not need to rush and I do not want to get involved in an auction for him. Without taking anything away from Piątek, we will need to see if he can do as well in our setup as he does at Genoa,” De Laurentiis confirmed at a Club Napoli event.

Since arriving on the Italian peninsula in the summer for a mere €4 million from Cracovia, Piatek has far exceeded any pre-season expectations, scoring in every appearance for the Grifone he has made. His form has attracted the interest of several top clubs from Italy, including the big clubs like Inter and Juventus among clubs from the likes of Germany and Spain also.
