Tuttosport have looked at the situations of Inter striker Lautaro Martinez and Milan striker Patrick Cutrone ahead of this weekend’s Milan derby where they are again expected to play second fiddle to Mauro Icardi and Gonzalo Higuain respectively.

The moods of each players are undoubtedly different. Cutrone has seen more use this season whereas Lautaro has not seen as much action as he would perhaps have hoped for following his summer arrival at the Nerazzurri.

Lautaro has just 177 minutes of action across the first eight league games, two of which he has started and another two where he has been substituted in. With one goal to his name, when you consider this situation, it is not all that bad at all.

Now, in view of the derby, it has to be understand if he will have been revitalised by his action for the national team over the break. However, playing alongside Icardi will not be easy during the year. Against Sassuolo he played behind him but was of course out of position and didn’t put in a good performance. Against SPAL, in his most recent performance, he showed more encouraging signs though.
