Former Inter and Milan striker Aldo Serena has shared his thoughts on this Sunday’s Milan derby in an interview with Corriere della Sera.
“Milan start games strong and try to direct the games but then pay the price later on for their high energy. Inter has a more compassionate style of play, they take their time and they now have a good physical condition,” he said.
“Milan’s play is enhanced by Higuain while Inter has in Maurito an unforgiving striker. I think Luciano Spalletti will want a high-density team in the middle, just to mark Higuain and to try to neutralise Suso. Inter have more quality and a bigger squad but they have not expressed all their potential.”
Serena concluded the interview by speaking on players that need to up their game from both sides.
“Gattuso has missed the contribution of Hakan Calhanoglu just like Spalletti has of Ivan Perisic. The Croatian can do much better than he has.”
