Just like last summer, qualification for the Champions League will again be decisive for Inter’s summer transfer campaign according to a report from Tuttosport.

The Turin based newspaper firstly reviewed how the past summer’s signings have got on since arriving at the club.

“Stefan de Vrij and Kwadwo Asamoah have done very well; Nainggolan is now coming on to top form and showed how he can be useful. Politano has not suffered from the leap into a top club while Martinez has done well as the back-up to Mauro Icardi. More is expected from Sime Vrsaljko, who has had some physical problems, and Keita Balde too.

They proceeded to look at some targets Inter have, particularly in the midfield department.

Getting in Champions League will be crucial to understand the market moves that Inter can make. One midfielder in particular however, remains in the cross-hairs of the sporting director Piero Ausilio, Nicolo Barella of Cagliari, who is followed by the young Croatian Ivan Sunjic.
