Inter legend Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi has spoken on which modern day player he sees himself in in an interview with La Repubblica.

“I see myself in someone like Andrea Barzagli because he is a serious professional maybe he has scored less goals than me and is more of a defender but he is an example and the boys these days do not need heroes, but positive examples instead. I suppose then I could mention Milan Skriniar, Andrea Ranocchia, Javier Zanetti and Giorgio Chiellini, who are examples on and off the pitch.”

Bergomi, who spent his entire playing career with the Nerazzurri, then compared Il Fenomeno Ronaldo, often known these days as ‘the original Ronaldo,’ with Juventus’ Cristiano Ronaldo.

“Ronie had so much speed and in one on one situations he was impressive. Cristiano Ronaldo is a great professional, he wants to stay at high levels as long as possible and is absolutely deadly.”
