Steven Zhang will be named the new president of Inter at the upcoming Inter shareholders meeting where current president Erick Thohir will vacate his position and leave the club according to a report from Tuttosport.

In becoming president, at 27-years-old, Zhang will be the youngest president in the club’s history. Since 2017, Zhang has had full power on the transfer market with transfers up to the value of €40 million and can handle contract negotiations up to the value of €10 million gross too.

Despite his young age, Zhang broke barriers as he spoke to Juventus director Andrea Agnelli on the sidelines during one of the Inter vs Juventus games last season. The pair agree on a number of topics and it would not be at all surprising to see Zhang speaking with Milan management at Sunday’s derby.

The Turin based newspaper have also praised his optimism. Of all the Inter directors president for the Champions League group stage draw, Zhang was the only one to leave the draw with a smile upon his face. Moreover, at Christmas last year, Zhang was already telling others things along the lines of, “Inter is not coming, instead we must say Inter is ready.”
