Nerazzurri legend Lothar Matthäus was interviewed by Sky Sport Italia and discussed the upcoming derby and the players and coaches from each side.
He began with the frontline which will see two Argentines go head-to-head once more: “Higuain is a top player – one that scores a lot. He scored everywhere, first with Napoli, then Juventus and now with Milan. As a coach, however, I’d rather have Icardi in my team.”
The German went on to compare the two coaches: “Spalletti has great experience as a technician and has achieved excellent results. Of course, Gattuso is doing very well and brings different experience but this is his first time as the coach of a big club like Milan.”
“Thanks to Spalletti’s history on the sidelines, I think he has more qualities as a coach. In my opinion this will help Inter win, but it will be a close game. The derby is always special, and I say Inter will win 2-1” Matthaus concluded.
