Toldo: “Handanovic Gives Inter Extraordinary Security”

Former Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo has spoken on current Nerazzurri number one Samir Handanovic ahead of the Milan derby on Sunday night.

“With players like Stefan de Vrij and Milan Skriniar there to protect him, Handanovic will be safer. Samir still gives extraordinary security on his own though and it will be interesting to compare him with the explosiveness of Milan’s Gigio Donnarumma, a player who has a bright future ahead of him,” he said in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Toldo, who spent nine years at Inter, was then asked what his favourite derby he participated in was.

“My favourite derby? They are all special.”

The Italian concluded the interview by speaking on the week leading up to the derby.

“In the week leading up to Inter-Milan, everything was fine. Even in the most difficult years, we trained with a maniacal care, often in silence.”
