Former Inter striker Ivan Zamorano was a guest at the club’s training ground in Appiano Gentile earlier today and afterwards he stopped by Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia to share his thoughts on the upcoming derby as well as all things Inter.

The Chilean fan favorite was delighted to be back at the club’s training ground stating that: “I really enjoy coming back to my home, I am very happy.”

The discussion then turned to the derby and Bam Bam as he was nicknamed by the club’s fans stated that: “No-one is the favorite regardless of who comes into this match in better form. On Sunday, during 90 minutes, you have to be better than your rival. Today I saw the team and they are preparing in an excellent way, we have to win.”

Zamorano was then asked the mandatory question these days of who he holds as the better player between Mauro Icardi and Gonzalo Higuain to which he replied without hesitation: “Mauro is clearly better. He is our captain, he will score on Sunday as in the previous derby. Icardi can play alone up front or with Lautaro, it seems to me that they need to adapt to the system. We are very happy to have him both in the Serie A and the Champions League.”

In conclusion Zamorano was asked what Spalletti’s men should have as their target this season stating that: “They must dream of winning the Scudetto and reaching as far as possible in the Champions League.”
