This Sunday night marks the day of the first derby della Madonnina of this season and for Inter’s Italian winger Matteo Politano this is the first derby he will take part in since joining the Nerazzurri this past summer and he spoke about what he is expecting on Sunday in an interview with Italian broadcaster SportMediaset.
The former Sassuolo player began by highlighting his expectations going into the match stating that: “I am really looking forward to Sunday, this week we have started to feel the atmosphere of the derby that is ahead of us and I am very happy to be able to take the field.”
Politano was then asked about the upcoming away match in the Champions League against Barcelona to which he replied: “We will start thinking about that game after the game on Sunday, starting on Monday all focus is on the Champions League game against Barcelona.”
The young Italian winger was asked if Icardi could decide the derby to which he replied: “I hope so, but we have also other players that can change the outcome of the game. Also Milan have very strong players like Gonzalo Higuain, Suso and Giacomo Bonaventura; all of them are quality players. We can look forward to a balanced derby with two equal teams, a beautiful derby.”
