Nicolo Barella was interviewed by ‘Fuorigioco’, Milano based Gazzetta dello Sport’s weekly magazine where he spoke about the rumored interest in him from a host of clubs, including Inter.

The Cagliari midfielder began by stating that: “I always rejoice in victories and I suffer in defeats because I know that people are expecting more and more from me, but I know that even when I suffer, I gave everything and did all I could.”

Do you fear that your eventual departure may be considered as a betrayal by some of the fans?

“I am not afraid of this, because if I had to leave it will never be for money, I would only leave for ambition.”

How do you keep your head focused on your career and goals as a footballer with all of these distractions around?

“I do not care about Ferraris or any of the other material goods. I do not play football just so I could have a nice car. I would probably buy a nice car, but I do not live for that. I spent 6 months in Como in Serie B two years ago. I had left my home for the first time and only had Alessandro Beltrami, my agent.”
