During a broadcast highlighting the career of José Mourinho on Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, former Inter President Massimo Moratti was interviewed about his thoughts on the Portuguese coach during their time together in charge of the Nerazzurri.

When asked if he was surprised that the self proclaimed Special One left Inter after having led them to a historic treble, Moratti stated that: “Just like the wind, at some point he left after having brought a huge breath of enthusiasm, force, optimism, confidence and joy to the history of Inter.”

Massimo Moratti appointed José Mourinho ahead of the 2008/2009 season after having sacked Roberto Mancini for not having been able to win the Champions League despite the latter having led Inter to three consecutive Serie A titles.

History would prove Moratti right as during his two year stint in charge of the club, Mourinho managed to do what no other manager in charge of an Italian club had ever managed to do, namely win the Coppa Italia, Serie A and the Champions League in one season.
