Former Inter player Sinisa Mihajlovic believes Mauro Icardi and Gonzalo Higuain will be the key men in tonight’s Derby della Madonnina and insists he will not be cheering for either side.

Mihajlovic spent four years with the Nerazzurri between 2004 and 2008, including two years as a player and then two years as Roberto Mancini’s assistant coach, but also coached Milan during the 2015-16 season.

“The Milan derby is less fiery than the Rome derby, but it’s still a special match and I know that well, having played in it with Inter and coached in it with Milan,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Personally I won’t cheer for either side. I enjoyed my time at both clubs and so I guess a draw would suit me nicely.

“A lot will depend on Icardi and Higuain tonight, but you can only win this match with the help of the entire team. There are players capable of winning you the match on both sides.

“I’m thinking of players like Perisic and Brozovic for Inter, who are strong physically and can make the difference, and talented men like Suso and Calhanoglu for Milan, who are useful from set pieces.”
