Inter’s Uruguayan international Matias Vecino is very much in contention for a place in the starting line-up in tomorrow night’s derby della Madonnina at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district, with kick-off scheduled for 20.30 CET.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset who report that the former Fiorentina man has not only recovered really well from the injury he sustained during the international break with Uruguay, but that his performances during this week’s training sessions have been so good Inter coach Luciano Spalletti is now considering Vecino to be a serious contender to start the derby instead of Roberto Gagliardini.

The only other doubt in Spalletti’s mind according to the report, is who to choose out of Sime Vrsaljko and Danilo D’Ambrosio in the right side of defence, with the Italian international the slight favorite.

Meanwhile up front, Matteo Politano and Ivan Perisic will play in either side of Mauro Icardi which means that Antonio Candreva and Keita Balde will start the match on the bench.

Inter’s probable starting line-up according to SportMediaset:

Inter (4-2-3-1): Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, Skriniar, De Vrij, Asamoah; Vecino, Brozovic; Politano/Candreva, Nainggolan, Perisic; Icardi.
