Inter’s vice-president Javier Zanetti spoke to Italian TV channel RAI 1 during the transmission of their show “Domenica Sportiva” about Inter’s run in the Champions League.
The Nerazzurri Vice President stated that: “Right now we have to be very focused on the game against Barcelona and we will play it knowing how strong of a team they are. But we are ready for this game and that just shows how consistent we have been during these last games. I fear their strength, mostly from their individual players and at home they know how to play and where to attack.”
The former Nerazzurri captain looked back to the treble winning team that played Barcelona stating that: “In 2010 we were heavily criticized of our defensive approach, but it was inevitable when we were down to 10 men. I believe that in that match, we showed a lot of group spirit and we got to the final on our own merits. The real secret of that treble winning group was the team spirit, we knew that we had a shot at history with winning the treble and we got it, well-deserved.”
