The Nerazzurri captain Mauro Icardi spoke to InterTV ahead of tonight’s Champions League group stage clash at the Camp Nou, with kick-off scheduled for 21.00 CET.
The former Barcelona striker stated that “It is a match like any other, we must try to do our best: it will be an important match because playing against Barcelona is not easy, but we are aware of their weaknesses.”
What can you tell us about the goal in the derby?
“I saw a video that follows me in action during the game. This video represents what I am inside the area, because I try to get rid of the defender and then score. It makes me proud to know that I can do these things.”
What are your thoughts on Barcelona?
“It will be a difficult game, Barça have players of the highest level, we can not think it’s easy just because they are missing Messi, we have to try to do well, we cannot afford to switch off even for a moment, as they will punish you.”
How will Inter approach the match?
“We know that when they have the ball they are very good, but we will also try to play our game.”
