In today’s paper edition of the newspaper, Turin-based media outlet Tuttosport underlines an interesting fact about Inter’s defense, namely that the defense that currently is one of the best in Europe was bought at a very low price.
According to the report: “To think that Inter will keep Suarez and the rest of Barcelona without a goal will be tough, but Inter will try, with its low-cost defense. Because at the moment, central defender Milan Skriniar is worth at least €80 million and Dutch central defender Stefan De Vrij could go for €40 million, while Miranda due to his age, 34, and his contract expiring is worth no more than €5 million.”
Tuttisport continue: “So Inter’s power-trio is worth €125 million but all it costed Piero Ausilio was €25 million, €13 million for Miranda, €12 million for Skriniar and €0 for De Vrij, not to mention the rest of Inter’s defense where even Asamoah arrived for free, Vrsaljko’s loan fee of €6.5 million is already paid with another €17.5 million to be paid to redeem him, while Inter in January 2014 paid €1.75 million for D’Ambrosio plus half of Benassi and Colombo.”
