Luciano Spalletti was anything but happy with the defeat his Inter suffered against Spanish side Barcelona in the Champions League group stage fixture at the Camp Noù.
It is always difficult to win away against Barcelona, but according to Spalletti Inter could have done more when being interviewed by UEFA stating that: “I am displeased because I wanted a completely different approach in the first half. We just did not have the courage to actually play the ball when we had possession and we allowed Barcelona to play the game they prefer. You can not come to this stadium and focus on defending and counterattacks, you need to manage your possession better in order to bring anything home from Camp Noù.”
On 2-2 the result between PSV Eindhoven and Tottenham, Spalletti had the following to say: “Obviously we are happy with the draw between the two other teams in our group. But we have to concentrate on the fact that we did not perform well tonight and we have to play a lot better next time because this is a team of ambitions.”
