The Nerazzurri’s 7 game winning streak came to crashing halt at the Camp Nou against Barcelona when the hosts comfortably and deservedly defeated Inter in the third group stage match of the Champions League.

Samir Handanovic – 7: Saved Inter on numerous occasions. Very solid and just as good as he needs to be in these matches. No chance on both goals. Inter’s best player by a mile.

Danilo D’Ambrosio – 5,5: Struggled throughout the match but especially in the first half when linkup with Candreva didn’t work. Looks out of form.

Joao Miranda – 5,5: You can tell that father time is taking its toll on him as there is nothing wrong with his positioning only the speed in which he does things.

Milan Skriniar – 6: A beast, a monster, a freak of nature who Luis Suarez will be dreaming nightmares about. Made his presence felt throughout match.

Kwadwo Asamoah – 5: Typical that Inter’s most consistent player up until before the derby suffers a dip in form in two most important matches of season.

Matias Vecino – 6: Inter’s second best player on the night. Working his way into form. Never stops running and always working hard, be it in defence or attack.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6: Gets this rating for his second half performance where he was just as good as Inter need him to be to stand a chance against Barcelona.

Antonio Candreva – 4,5: Had an absolutely abysmal first 45 minutes and was quite justifiably brought off for Politano at half time.

Borja Valero – 4,5: Never in the match and surprisingly what let him down was his technique, most likely due to fact that tempo was far too high for him.

Ivan Perisic – 5: Decent start to the match but then gradually dropped out and towards the end Barcelona identified his flank as the weakest link.

Mauro Icardi – 5,5: Had a few half chances which he got for himself thanks to his movement but as Inter barely had the ball Maurito was invisible.

Matteo Politano – 6: Great impact when coming on. Won the ball high up, caused problems to Barcelona’s left flank & should have scored.

Lautaro Martinez – 5: Made his Champions League debut when replacing Borja Valero but barely made an impact on the match. A little out of his depth.

Keita Balde – 5: Came on for the exhausted Perisic and tried to cause a bit of trouble down Barcelona’s right flank but was too isolated.

Luciano Spalletti – 5,5: Can’t be blamed for the loss as he tried to do the best with what he had at his disposal but should have made two changes at halftime.

Ovidiu Hategan – 6: An alright and acceptable performance by the referee and his assistants who kept a consistant level throughout the match.

Inter – 5: Sometimes you play teams that are better than you which leads to you loosing deservedly. However as a whole team made too many simple mistakes.

Agree? Disagree? Who do you think was Inter’s best player of the night?
