Inter’s star summer signing, Radja Nainggolan is biting the proverbial bullet and hoping to return to action as quickly as possible.
Following Inter’s 2-0 defeat to Barcelona at the Camp Nou, Manager Luciano Spalletti has given the team the day off, but Nainggolan was spotted at Appiano Gentile, undergoing therapy on his left ankle, which he injured as a result of a clash with AC Milan’s Argentine midfielder Lucas Biglia during the Derby della Madonnina.
According to Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the Belgian hard-man hopes to make himself available for manager Luciano Spalletti as early as Monday 29th October, for Inter’s away match against Lazio, claiming that much of the pain he initially felt has now dissipated – apparently and unsurprisingly, Nainggolan has a relatively high threshold for pain. But Inter’s medical staff are unlikely to give him the green light that early.
For injuries of the type sustained by Nainggolan, 3 weeks on the sidelines is the usual prognosis, which means that having the Belgian available to face Genoa on 3rd November would be considered a feat for Inter’s medical staff.
