Former Juventus CEO Beppe Marotta is getting closer and closer to Inter according to a report in the newspaper edition of Rome based Corriere dello Sport.

According to the report: “Steven Zhang, the new Inter President, has been interested and in contact with Marotta for a while, but it was only at the start of October did they start talking about his availability and his desire to work at a club like Inter. Marotta can see Steven Zhang as a young Andrea Agnelli: full of passion, ambition, and strategy. Marotta would help Inter grow and expand, especially as Inter will be free from FFP restrictions and will have more freedom to do as they please in the transfer windows.”

Many people are wondering what will happen to Piero Ausilio if Marotta were to join Inter, and Corriere dello Sport stated that: “Marotta will act as a glue, a role that fits perfectly with Suning’s ambitions. Similar to how it seemed like it would be difficult for Ausilio and Walter Sabatini to coexist. Ausilio has accepted this challenge without fear or hesitation.”
