It looks like Real Madrid has beaten Inter in the race to sign River Plate’s young midfielder Exequiel Palacios at least if Tyc Sports are to be believed.

According to the report the young Argentinian player will join Los Merengues in June 2019 for a fee of €20 million which will be paid to River Plate. The deal satisfies all parties as River Plate and Palacios did not want to part ways until after this season’s Copa Libertadores as well as the Argentinian Superliga.

Palacios is a River Plate product, coming up through the ranks of the club from youth team all the way to the first team where he has been so impressive he has already made two appearances for the Argentinian national team.

Inter had been linked with the player in recent months but were hesitant due to the high transfer fee which were incompatible with the Settlement Agreement the club has with UEFA.
