Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio met with an intermediary to hold talks over Sampdoria’s Joachim Andersen while in Rome on Sunday evening a report from newspaper La Stampa details.
Ausilio met with Gabriele Giuffrida for dinner to discuss the Danish centre back who Inter are seeing as the long-term replacement for Brazilian defender Miranda, who recently turned 34.
It is understood that coming to terms over a salary will not be too difficult but one aspect of any potential deal that could complicated matters is the 22-year-old’s price-tag. Despite this, the report suggests Inter are leading the way to land him.
Things would appear pretty straightforward but the report warns to expect the unexpected partly due to the fact that Inter are not alone in courting the former FC Twente man. Several other clubs from within Serie A as well as clubs in the Premier League are said to be interested in Andersen who has been labelled the next Milan Skriniar despite there only being a year’s difference between them.
