The star of the latest episode of Inter Player One, broadcast on InterTV, was the club’s reserve goalkeeper, Daniele Padelli. The Italian spoke to the show about his adventure with the Nerazzurri as well as his past.

What is football for you?

“As a child, I always dreamed of playing professionally. I have always practiced or played, football is my life.”

And Inter?

“I accepted their offer at once. My whole family are Nerazzurri, my son will be, and when I was a child I always supported the club.”

Who are your best friends within the team?

“I get along well with everyone in the squad, but I spend the most time with Ranocchia, Berni and Handanovic.”

What does it take to be a top goalkeeper?

“First of all, you have to be a bit different from everyone else, and you must accept that where others put their feet, you put your head! This is a bit of a philosophy of life.”

If you were not a footballer, what would you do with your life?

“I have no idea! I liked the idea of working as a mechanic as a child because I liked the smell of petrol. I probably would have pursued that more if not for football.”

Who are your five favorite Inter goalkeepers of all time?

“Handanovic is the best of all. After him I would put Gianluca Pagliuca, and then Julio Cesar for everything he achieved during the Triplete. Then, I think Francesco Toldo and Angelo Peruzzi.”
