Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio invited journalist and ostracised Inter fan Paolo Borrometi to the Inter training ground Appiano Gentile to allow him to experience Inter in his life again having been kept away from the club for a number of years.
“Piero Ausilio contacted the Sicilian journalist to officially invite him to Pinetina. Paolo Borrometi, a huge Inter fan, has been unable to attend a match at Meazza ever since 2013. This was not through choice but because of the threats (verbal as well as physical) he received from the mafia.
“It was the 16 April 2014 when Paolo suffered an act of aggression from the mafia, which will leave him forever marked. Since then his life is no longer his: He is perpetually under guard, he had to give up everything, even his beloved Inter. As the famous saying goes, “If the mountain will not come to Muhammad, then Muhammad must go to the mountain.”
