Having had success in regenerating Marcelo Brozovic, Inter manager Luciano Spalletti hopes to have similar success with Joao Mario according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

Spalletti threw him in at the deep end by starting him against Lazio after a long time out and he received an excellent response from the Portuguese. As a result, Joao Mario may also start Saturday’s match at home to Genoa. This match, if he is to do well, could allow him to get more Inter fans back on his side.

Joao Mario had a relatively lacklustre loan spell at West Ham United in the second half of last season but despite announcing he wanted to leave Inter in the summer, no transfer came about so he got his head down and worked hard to play his way into Spalletti’s plans.

The report from the Rome based newspaper also speaks on Radja Nainggolan. It is unclear as to whether the Ninja will have recovered in time but when taking the match against Barcelona in to consideration, even if fit, he could be on the substitutes bench against Genoa to preserve him.
