Gazzetta dello Sport have taken a look at why Juventus find themselves ahead of their two main challengers for the Scudetto in Inter and Napoli.

Juventus have won all bar one game this campaign across and the only major obstacle they have faced in league action is in fact Napoli, who they dispatched of 3-1 back in September. Inter and Juventus will meanwhile lock horns for the first time on December 7 with the Allianz Stadium in Turin the venue for the first seasonal encounter. Leading up to the game, Juventus’ fixtures get a bit more challenging with matches with Milan and Fiorentina both coming up while Inter face Frosinone and Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in their run in to the game.

The Bianconeri currently have a six point gap on their pursuers and more goals than each of Napoli and Inter which is understandable when Juventus have had 69 shots to Napoli’s 52 and Inter’s 45. Juventus have also enjoyed pinpoint passing with a pass completion rate of 88.76% as part of them having the lion share of possession with an average of 61.69%.

One aspect that Max Allegri could look to improve is the defence. Between wojciech szczesny and Mattia Perin, Juve have only kept four clean sheets from 10 Serie A outtings, the same figure as Napoli. Inter meanwhile have had 5 clean sheets and have the best defence in the league with just six goals conceded.
