The President of River Plate, Rodolfo D’Onofrio, has promptly responded to the rumors that La Liga giants Real Madrid have already secured the signing of the clubs Argentinian midfield gem, Exequiel Palacios – a player that is also admired by the Nerazzurri.

When contacted by Spanish newspaper Marca, D’Onofrio was adamanet that no one from Real Madrid had ever officially presented an offer to him: “When asked if we know anything about the transfer of Palacios, I must say that I do not take the matter seriously. I respect Real Madrid too much to think that they would be doing things behind our back. Both clubs share a long history together, from Don Alfredo Di Stefano to the present. For sure, someone in the media has invented this story.”

Palacios, who made his debut for the Argentine national team earlier this year, began his youth career at River Plate in 2015. He has since gone on to make 18 appearances for the first team, scoring two goals.
