Legendary former Inter defender Marco Materazzi was interviewed by Italian broadcaster Sky Sport 24 during the Inter Forever clash with Barcelona Legends.

Materazzi was asked about his memories of playing Barcelona: “When I think of Barca the final whistle of the semifinal in 2010 springs immediately to mind. This Inter however has demonstrated that they have found their dimensions. I am confident for tonight, when the San Siro is packed it makes a difference. Well done to the club and the team, they deserve this crowd.”

The FIFA World Cup winner from 2006 was asked about his thoughts on former coach José Mourinho’s struggles at Manchester United: “You cannot create alchemy in a squad. I wouldn’t want any Manchester United’s players and I think that as a squad they’re not on the same level that we were. Maybe José has softened now.”

In conclusion Materazzi was asked about the friction Mourinho had with former teammate Mario Balotelli: “He had the respect of everyone. He made himself heard with everyone not just Mario. The coach is a little bit like a psychologist given that he has to think for 25 people. Then it’s up to the intelligence of the player to take the advice given in a positive manner.”
