Mauro Icardi shared his thoughts and feelings on the 1-1 draw with Barcelona in the Champions League, a game which saw Inter showcase their never say die attitude and score yet another late goal.
“After the match with Tottenham at home, where we reacted well, we knew that we could do something more even against Barcelona, who seemed to relaxed a bit once they scored their goal.
“In these games where you only get a few chances, you have to control the nerves and your head. It is a shame about their goal but we were good at hitting back at the right time, taking advantage of the spaces that they left.”
Icardi also praised Lautaro Martinez’s contribution from the substitutes bench.
“Lautaro coming on gave us more power up front. We played as a partnership and he was good at turning the ball inside to me which led to my goal.”
