Matteo Politano spoke to the gathered media in the mixed zone at San Siro following Inter’s 1-1 draw against Barcelona in the Champions League.
“It is an important point for us against a strong team, now let’s think about Sunday. We are a great team, we never give up, even when we go behind we try and try again. In the first half they pressed us a lot and in the second they decreased their pressing when in fact we played better ourselves. We put a team in such a difficult situation, we have to start from here, aware that we can play with them.”
Politano was then asked about his start to life at Inter following his summer transfer from Sassuolo.
“I only think about doing the best for Inter. Luciano Spalletti gives me confidence and I try to repay it on the pitch, I owe a lot to him and to my teammates. Did I expect to become a protagonist at Inter so soon? No but I have always worked hard in training to be at my best in the matches.”
