Former Inter defender Marco Materazzi took part in the exhibition match yesterday between Inter Forever and Barça Legends in the specially created pitch in Piazza Città di Lombardia, in Milano.
Afterwards he spoke with Tuttosport who began by asking him who he think will win the Champions League: “I wish Inter will win, but we must see in March. A lot can happen between now and March. Juventus are the favorites above all and then Barcelona, Manchester City but keep an eye on the Nerazzurri, they can be an important dark horse along with Liverpool.”
Marco Materazzi was part of the Inter squad that won the treble under Jose Mourinho in 2010 and is a fan favourite at the San Siro.
He made 184 league appearances for the Nerazzurri between 2001 and 2011 and managed to score 18 goals as well. He was also a key part of Roberto Mancini’s Inter sides that won the league titles in 2007 and 2008.
