Despite a number of good performances lately, Samir Handanovic does not represent the future in the goalkeeping position for Inter and the Nerazzurri are looking around for his long term replacement according to a report from Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

As early as next season Inter could bring in a younger goalkeeper to deputise him and eventually then take over from him.

One player that Inter are keeping their eyes on is Paris St. Germain’s Alphonse Areola. The 25-year-old shot stopper’s contract expires at the end of the current season but renewal talks are underway. Despite this, Inter are still keeping tabs on him.

Another player under consideration is Cagliari number one Alessio Cragno. It is understood that it could take between €18-20 million to sign the Italian international, who has long been a target of the Nerazzurri as well as a number of other clubs such as Napoli.
