Rafael Toloi is expected to shake off an ankle problem for Atalanta’s match at home to Inter on Sunday.
Luciano Spalletti’s side will be seeking an eighth straight win in Serie A when they step out at the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia, but the Nerazzurri don’t have a good record in Bergamo where they’ve won on just one of their last nine visits.
Atalanta have been sweating on the fitness of centre-back Toloi all week, after he took a blow to his ankle during last weekend’s win against Bologna, but the Brazilian trained with the rest of the squad on Saturday morning and should recover in time to start.
“He is more likely to start than not at the moment,” Gazzetta dello Sport wrote, “although the fact he only resumed normal training today means he remains a slight doubt.”
Should Toloi not make it he will be replaced in defence by Berat Djimsiti.
Marco Tumminello, Andrea Masiello, Arkadiusz Reca and Marco Varnier are all unavailable for Sunday’s match.
