It is only a matter of months until Mauro Icardi moves to Real Madrid according to a report from Don Balon.

As per the Spanish news outlet, Icardi promised Inter’s management to stick around for one more year after finally qualifying for the Champions League, making a January transfer window exit impossible.

Los Blancos are looking for the striker to replace the goals they have lost from Cristiano Ronaldo’s summer transfer to Juventus and have identified the 25-year-old Inter captain as the man to do this.

The Santiago Bernabeu club believe that they will be able to sign Icardi for a sum of €120 million, a sum that, when recent purchases are considered, does not seem all that much for them.

Icardi has been with Inter since the summer of 2013 and been a prolific goalscorer with his goal tally currently sitting at 116 goals in 194 competitive games across all competitions for the club.
