One of Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa’s agents Junior Pedroso has downplayed the recent reports linking Gabigol and fellow client ex-Inter defender Dodo with a move to Flamengo.

“The pair of them have already said that they want to wait until the end of the Brazilian season before thinking about any transfer talks and we respect their will,” he said in an interview with Esporte 24 Horas.

“Flamengo have not officially approached us even if an intermediary close to the club says they have made moves for both. We know that at the beginning of December Flamengo should have a new president in place and this could potentially curb any kind of dialogue between us.”

The 21-year-old Brazilian striker has been in fine form while on loan at Santos this year from Inter scoring 16 goals in 31 league outings. His loan with the Peixe runs until December 31 and he will return to Inter on January 1 but it is widely reported that he will either be loaned back out or sold on permanently.
