With Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta’s arrival on the Inter board both seemingly inevitable and imminent, Corriere di Torino have began to speculate what the former Juventus director’s first moves in the summer transfer market could be at Inter.

The Turin based newspaper suggest that Marotta could have Inter go back in for Real Madrid ace Luka Modric, a player who Inter unsuccessfully courted during the most recent summer transfer window. Making a move in January seems as good as impossible following the complete break down and souring of relations between Nerazzurri and Los Blancos over the alleged way Inter went about trying to sign Modric.

In addition to the Croatian, who led his nation to the World Cup final, Inter could make a swoop for Manchester United’s Anthony Martial. The Frenchman has an expiring contract with the Red Devils and Inter made an attempt to sign him two summers ago when United came sniffing about Inter winger Ivan Perisic.
